Nosy Goat Studio Smooth Bent Egg-Natural

NOSY GOAT STUDIO | MATT McEWEN

Matt McEwen is the artisan pipe maker behind Nosy Goat Studio, an independent workshop specializing in distinctive, handcrafted pipes that challenge conventional designs and materials.

What sets Matt's creations apart is his innovative use of hand-cut and drilled soapstone smoking chambers. Unlike traditional briar pipes, where the tobacco burns directly against the wood, Matt carefully crafts a soapstone insert that serves as the actual smoking chamber. This unique construction allows him to incorporate an extraordinary variety of woods, including exotic and highly figured species not typically used in conventional pipe making.

The result is a remarkable combination of natural beauty, imaginative design, and functional craftsmanship. Each pipe showcases the individuality of its materials and Matt's creative vision, making every creation a distinctive piece of functional art.

The Blind Briar's Ember is proud to feature Matt McEwen and Nosy Goat Studio as a member of The Briar Alliance, our distinguished collection of independent artisan pipe makers.
