5 Solas Pipes is the work of American artisan pipe maker Jon Hawkins, a military veteran and pastor whose background brings a distinctive sense of purpose, tradition, and craftsmanship to his work.

Jon creates his pipes individually by hand, combining classic pipe-making influences with his own approach to shaping, proportion, finishing, and stem work. Rather than striving for the uniformity of factory production, each 5 Solas pipe develops its own character, with the grain and natural qualities of the briar helping influence the finished piece.

For Jon, pipe making is more than simply producing another pipe. His work reflects patience, attention to detail, and an appreciation for creating something by hand that can become a trusted companion for its owner for years to come.

🧭 THE CORPS OF DISCOVERY 🧭

Before the frontier could be settled, it first had to be explored.

In 1804, Meriwether Lewis and William Clark led the Corps of Discovery into the unknown. Charged by President Thomas Jefferson to explore the Louisiana Purchase and find a route to the Pacific, they crossed rivers, scaled mountains, forged friendships, and mapped a continent. Their journey became one of the greatest expeditions in American history.

The Corps of Discovery honors that remarkable spirit of exploration.

Handcrafted from premium Greek briar, this unique shape that is a nod to exploration and innovation features warm, natural grain reminiscent of the forests and plains that stretched before the expedition. A rich limited edition ebonite stem with beautiful, warm amber tones is joined to the briar with a genuine brass inlay, recalling the brass instruments, compasses, sextants, and tools that guided the Corps across an uncharted wilderness. The extreme forward can’t of the bowl, while balanced well, seems to be wanting to move forward and explore the unknown.

This is a pipe for those who understand that the greatest journeys are seldom easy—but they are always worth taking.

Return Policy

We want you to be pleased with your purchase. Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery, provided the pipe remains unused, unsmoked, undamaged, and in the same condition in which it was received.

Pipes that have been smoked, altered, cleaned, or damaged after delivery cannot be returned. Buyers are responsible for return shipping unless the item received was incorrect or materially different from its description.
